What are the goals of COP23?

The climate conference COP23 is held in Bonn, Germany from 6 – 7 November under the Presidency of the Republic of Fiji. The aim of COP23 is to strengthen the implementation of the Paris Climate Accord by working on a “rule book” including guidelines for areas such as emission reduction, adaptation to climate change impact, provision of funding and technology as well as capacity building. These guidelines are then supposed to be adopted at the next climate summit COP24 in Poland in late 2018.
